This laptop bag is as advertised. Durable and much more convenient to use than other laptop cases/bags (especially in airports) which can be bulky and cumbersome. I use it for a MacBook Pro, which fits comfortably in a padded compartment. The remainder is spacious enough for a variety of items (power supply, paperwork, etc.). For me, the two zipper compartments work well for quick access items (passport, tickets, etc.) Very pleased with the laptop bag and price.

I haven't used the pen to create anything on this yet (and I've had this for a couple months now), but the bag is perfect. I have enough room for my 15' macbook pro, along with the power adapter, pens, ipod cord, and lately I've kept my umbrella in the side pocket just in case it randomly rains. Definitely one of the best bags I have ever purchased!

First, let me say this is a great bag. It works quite well for my laptop, a Lenovo X200 Tablet, and all the papers and books I carry. It is ruggedly handsome, in a shabby chic sort of way. It is large enough to easily load with papers/books. (Note: it is not 8 inches thick, as it says here. Where did that come from? It is about 3.5 or 4 inches thick, what you would expect. And it weighs much less than the 5 pounds posted here.) There is a liner inside that also adds to the ease of loading/unloading. The cushioning for the laptop is just right. Some of the more expensive bags I looked at had so much cushioning there and elsewhere that it added to the weight and handling of the bag, without a perceivable improvement in protection. The strap is 2 inches wide and comfortable.

There are some things I would like to see, and I list them here to help others make a decision:

Most folks put a bag over their right shoulder. This puts the key clip on the rear, vulnerable to thieves. It would be nice to have that reversed.

A handle on top would help move the bag around in the car, for example, or to pick up quickly. A simple canvas piece there would do.

A cell phone pocket on the shoulder strap would be nice. Right now there is no place for a cell phone except in a deep pocket. See next comment.

The side pockets are very deep and narrow. An old undershirt stuffed in one keeps my PDA sitting on top within reach, and would work in the other for a cell phone, but one shouldn't have to do it this way. (Don't worry. I plan on picking up some bandanas to use in place of old undershirts!) It would help if they were wider, too, so you could reach down in them. As for my 20 oz. Gatorade bottles, fitting one in there is not even close. And a hand? Forget it!

After all that, this is a fantastic bag, and the price is unbelievably good. Take any criticism here as simply an effort to help you in your shopping. If those things don't bother you, you will like the bag. I do. It's a keeper for me.
