This product will fit Kenmore and Whirlpool since Kenmore refrigerators that use the 9020/9030 filter were manufactured by Whirlpool-KitchenAid.
The air bubbles are normal. Per the manual, when installing the filter you need to flush the water system. You need to press the water dispenser button for 5 seconds then release for 5 seconds; repeat until water begins to flow. THEN continue for another 5 minutes (pressing and releasing every 5 seconds) to flush the air from the filter. That is what the manual says anyway. I doubt I’ll be pressing and releasing every 5 seconds for 5 minutes!

This filter works just fine, it is not the top of the line filter from PUR, but I couldn’t tell a difference in water taste. You can’t beat the price either, two filters for half the price of one of the better filters at Sears.
